Spokane Avenue Water Main Replacement Project

Spokane Logo

The Spokane Avenue Water Main Replacement Project will begin Tuesday, September 6, 2022. The project will consist of replacing the existing cast iron water main along Spokane Avenue, from 13th Street to East 2nd Street. Water service lines affected by the construction will also be replaced. Temporary water supply will be provided to those affected. Replacement of curb stops and fire hydrants will be required within the project limits. Additionally, reconstruction at intersections of Spokane Avenue with 4th and 5th Street with ADA upgrades will be implemented. Construction will begin at 13th Street and continue north. Property and business access will be maintained with two-way, one-lane traffic during both phases. Delays should be expected.

The construction schedule is planned as follows:

» Phase 1: Start construction in September 2022 and complete construction in October 2022. The road will be repaved and reopened for the winter.

» Phase 2: Start construction in March of 2023 and complete construction on the water main by June of 2023.

» MDT Repaving Project: Schedule to be determined.

Phase 1 construction is anticipated to end at Spokane Avenue and 6th Street this fall. Phase 2 spring construction is anticipated to proceed from Spokane Avenue and 5th Street and move north to Spokane and East 2nd Street depending on progress and weather.
