Whitefish maintains a number of miles of bicycle and pedestrian trails inside the City for commuting and recreation purposes.
Please see our Bicycle and Pedestrian web map application for shared-use path and other trail information.
There are also numerous mountain bike trails near the City including the Whitefish Trail, at Whitefish Mountain Resort, and on area logging roads. You can view the map for the Whitefish Trail at Whitefish Legacy Partners website.
Whitefish is also a major junction for long-distance and cross country bicycling. Two major routes pass through Whitefish. The Northern Tier route from Anacortes, Washington to Bar Harbor, Maine passes through Whitefish. The Great Divide Mountain Bike Trail from Roosville, Montana (Canadian Border) to Antelope Wells, New Mexico (Mexican Border) is a north-south route of mostly off-paved roads that pass through Whitefish. Whitefish is a major stopping point for both routes.
You can view these routes by looking at maps at the Adventure Cycling website.
